Hello to all, I need to know the best way to remove the front springs on a 69 chevelle is it best to remove from the lower A frame from the bushing side, or just crack the ball joint? I will be cutting the springs and re-installing, do i need to loosen all the bushings? does it need to be on the ground before i tighten everything?? Thanks for the info..

What I did, and it only took me 2 hours to R&R my springs was to put the car up on jack stands as High (and safe) as I could get them so that the front wheels were both off. I removed the lower A-arm from the lower ball joint after removing the shocks.

I did this by putting the jack under the lower a-arm and jacking it up till the car started to raise. I then took the nut off of the ball joint stud and lowered the jack till it had a seperation of about 1 inch from the a-arm. I then wacked the spindle where the stud went throuh untill it popped off. I then lowered the jack untill I was able to remove it and then pushed the a-arm down so that I could remove the spring, and put it in the reverse order.
