What's the best way to replace the body mounts on my 70 Elky. How do you get WD40, Liquid wrench etc to the bolts? Thanks.

yes. spray some kinda penetrating oil on the bolts and all over the bushings, it will wick into threads. if you can, lift up carpet and spray from top also. let sit for a few days. it also would not hurt to repeat once a day for the 3 days. then go to town.

i did one side at a time. put the car on jack stands front and rear. make sure they are secure and the car is stable. take all the bolt out of the left or right side. then take a floor jack with a long block of 2x4(2 to 3 feet long) wood and put under the rocker panel in between the front and rear wheels. then lift body a little. the less the better. then replace. set body down. line up bolts and tighten to recommended torque.

i had an impact gun to take bolts off and that sure helped. good luck. tommy

Thanks Joe and Tommy. It's a project that I haven't been looking forward to but I need to do it. Got the new bushings and bolts. I appreciate the help. Thanks again. smile.gif Roy
