Any one thinking of hitting Hot August Nights should check out Fifties Fever in Winnemucca, this weekend! 160 Mi east on I-80. I know its not much notice for some but if you are coming in from the east, you will go right through. The best part is the Good Times Street Drags, Sanctioned on a public city street. Bracket racing at its best, everything from bone stock whatever running the A/C to all out dragsters. The track is only 330 Ft. and the audience can see the whole race. My 65 Malibu SS has not missed this event in 15 years.:beers:

I'll be there, but the Chevelle won't be with me this year... Too many things to finish and not enough time left...

We decided to use my show registration to bring my buddy's 1969 Dodge Charger R/T...

Its an original 4-speed car (pretty rare), and he just had the original 440 Magnum pulled out and dropped a crate Hemi into it... painted steelies with redlines and dog dishes... And a fresh new paint job... Charger Red with Tan interior...

Too bad he probably won't get on it much... :D

Looking forward to it...

We'll be staying at the Grand Sierra, so if you see me around, say hello ;)

I'll be there. 6500 cars....getting too crowded. When I started going, they limited it to 5,000 cars. Just makes the cruise lines monumental, and prone to more overheating.

Your in the same place I am; I spent 20 grand just in parts but now ran out of money. I'm about 8k away from getting her on the road; I still have to install windows, get exaust, rear rims/tires, do some body work, and some small things... I runs but if a cop hears or sees me I'm toast. Next year!

I was watching the auction on ESPN today from last years Hot August Nights. Quite a few cars weren't bid to the reserve. Outta be worse this year....some bargains to be had, maybe.

I went to this event. 6000 registered cars and 3300 on the waiting list. The quality of the cars was just the best. Many Ca. cars there. The weather turned off pretty cool and the wind blew hard for Thur and Fri. Great fun and we are looking forward to next year.
