I have a 68 Malibu, and I want to convert the front drums to disc. The brake system is manual now, but I would like power. Can I simply buy the conversion kit from SSBC or MPBrakes with the booster and install it, or are there any modifications or extra parts I'll need?

thanks

I used a kit from SSB on my 66 and wrote my experiences down on http://www.si.hhs.nl/~rob/drum2disc.html (Please ignore the header of the page)

It turned out alright, but I would go with MPB if I had to do it over again.

Hope this helps some.

I buy from Master power all the time. Good products for our cars, and good people! Ask for pat he is helpful, and knows his product. Chip

I found a donor car and swapped mine. my setup came off a 72 monte carlo. found booster and master from other cars from same era. buick, pontiac, etc. I would search local junk yard and see what I could find. Good luck.

I'm in the process of removing a SSBC setup off of my 66.
I have brakes,
drop spindles,
9" booster and MC.
If you are interested let me know, maybe we can work out a sweet deal. graemlins/beers.gif
Setup only has 800 easy miles on it.
I'm converting to tall spindles and C5 13" stuff.
