I just bought a 71' Chevelle. It has a Cowl Induction hood but I noticed today that the actual Cowl part is (factory) blanked off. Is this normal?
Is there an effective way to cut out the blanking plate?

It should just be a flat piece of metal spot welded at least mine was. I took a chisel and hammer and lightly tapped the metal where it was spotwelded and it came loose easily.
