Does it matter which end is up on the rear springs? Eibach springs, 1.3 inches lower than stock, wound tighter on one end than on the other. Don't notice any other differences.

the tighter wound end goes up and line up the top of the springs in the same direction
I usually mount it with the end of the spring forward of the hole and pointing to the side of the car
but some springs seem a little wide, then you need to turn the spring so it won't bind on anything
