I replaced the rear wheel cylinders on my 72 chevelle wagon, bled the brakes but no pedal, i can pump them up to get brakes but the pedal goes back down to the floor. I then replaced the master cylinder, it was leaking like a faucet out the back. Bled the brakes, same problem. I have not ck'd the front calipers yet, is it possible for a caliper to cause this problem, or do I have a new out of the box bad master cylinder?

if you dont see fluid leaking it is very possible to have another bad master cylinder. but you should bleed the front calipers too after the rear.

Did you bench bleed the master cylinder before it was installed? With the M/C mounted with its nose in the air, you cannot bleed all of the air out of it once its mounted.

i bled the master cylinder, on the bench, I'm thinking I just got another quality part from the parts store. Thank You all for your input, I guess our thinking is along the same track.
