: Manual brake pedal

I have switched to manual discs from the power drums that were on my 71. I have a couple of small things to get taken care of before I can get it on the road.

The first one is – where does the rubber bumper mount ? Is it the square hole below or the round one above the B/U light switch ?

Which hole is the light switch supposed to mount in with manual brakes - the upper one or the one that it is in shown in the photo below ?

Thanks !

Tom

Humm, I don't know why the photo is not loading. If you want to see it copy the URL and paste it in the address bar.

Thanks !

I cant see the pic, but with the pedal retracted it should be touching the rubber bumper and depressing the brake light switch..so I would say the rubber bumper will be above the stop light switch.

I figured it out !

Don't leave any spaces in the URL !

that looks like a power setup to me by the pic, a manual setup would have the master rod connected to the upper hole which in power setups is used for the brake switch tab (still installed in that pic). Looks like the switch should move up to the upper round hole and the rubber block should go in the square hole. It will all be obvious once you move the rod to the correct position. Manual brake setups use the pedal to actuate the brake light switch and power setups use the metal tab.

I found the rubber bumper and it fits in the square hole below the switch.

The picture is of my pedal as it is right now. I am moving the pin to the top hole with the rod attached to the M/C and I wanted to know if the switch goes in the top hole or the one it is in now.

It looks like it will work either way but I don’t want to be driving around all the time with my brake lights on or come out to find a dead battery because the switch was in the wrong hole.
