I want to lower the front of my 71 chevelle, the front coils are stock, and i can get a good deal on a new pair of 1 1/2 inch lowered coils from eibach for 50 $ for my car. Does anyone have any pics of how low it would be? They dont have to be eibach although that would help. Thanks

Brian,

I think your car will look great! I have a '68 Chevelle with 1" lowering springs and it is not enough. I am looking for 1.5" drop springs.

I put some hotchkis 1" lowering springs on my 69 chevelle with a alum head small block and they raised the car a .25" even though the springs were 4-5" shorter than the stock ones. I cut a half a coil out of the front and that dropped it an 1" . Make sure when ordering, you specify engine type so they know the weight on the springs.I'd lower it 2" depending on your wheel / tire combo. I have headers and there are no clearnace issues and I have 10" wheels on the back. Good luck

Drop spindles are the way to go. I put 1" drop springs, 2" dropped spindlesand tubular upper control arms for camber control. I still want to go lower. If you run into header clearence issues. I bought Sanderson mid length headers. They drop down to mid oilpan. You are looking at about 1000 bucks this way, but i feel its the correct way to lower your car without ruining the drive and your back.
