There's a "kit" on ebay that's going for $40 right now. It's off a 71 Chevelle and comes with the following: rotors, spindels, calipers, and appears to be the rubber lines that bolt into the calipers. There are a couple of bolts, but not sure what else I'd need to complete it. I know I'd need a master cylinder, brake booster, possible brake lines, proportional valve....? anything else??? TIA everyone!!! graemlins/hurray.gif graemlins/beers.gif graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Are there dust shields? The master cylinder is different from drum to disc, a proportioning valve is also needed. Some new brake lines also.

I am drawing a blank i think there is something else i am missing but here are some things.

Need the caliper brackets. The long bolts the caliper rides on. The big bolt that holds the dust shield, and bracket to the spindle. Banjo bolts and copper wahshers for the hoses.

and the brackets that hold the hose lines to the frame. They are unique to the disc hoses.

Well, I emailed the guy and he said the reason he is selling the parts is because he upgraded to bigger calipers and rotors. So, I'm assuming I'll be needing those long bolts, brake lines, and whatnot. The picture on ebay shows the dust shield. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2481209514&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
Thanks for the feedback, please keep it coming, I'd like to know if it's worth placing a bid on. If not, then I'll deal with my drum brakes a while longer until I can afford an actual kit or come across another chevelle or equal car that I can swap out.

I looked at the ebay link, and I did not see any mention of the spindels. They are also not in any of the pictures. With the expection of the spindels, dust shields, and caliper brackets all the other parts can be purchased at any auto parts store.

You can't easily use the drum brake spindle either.

Tim. </font>[/QUOTE]Oooooooooooooooooooooo.....ok. About how much do you think I'd have to spend on the side to complete everything and bolt in for use?
