My 66 chevelle is in desperate need of new shocks all around. Which brands are affordable (reasonably anyway) and easy to install (since I want to put them on myself)?

Watch the ads in your local Kragens,Autozone and PepBoys. You can often get Monroe shocks at a very good price, I have used them for years and the are great. The shocks are a snap to replace and you can usually do all four in an hour unless you run into stuborn bolts. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I have Monroe Senstrac shocks on my 72 Chevelle and they give a nice ride, well as good of a ride for a Chevelle with polygraphite bushings front and rear. It's a firm ride but still smooth but not bouncy Cadillac smooth although it might be with rubber bushings.

If you want agood performance feel, try KYBs. They are generally about the same price as the other, but give you a much firmer feel.

I'll second the KYBs...at $25 or so from Summitracing.com...you can't go wrong for a gas shock. Like was said, installation is easy until you can't break a bolt loose.

I'm with them on the KYBs. $18 at the local Car Quest.
