I just bought a plain jane '66 with manual drum brakes. I'm trying to decide what's the best bang for the buck way to upgrade these brakes. My ultimate goal is a low 12 second car that I will drive back and forth to work everyday (19 miles each way) and occasionally take on longer trips. I don't care about keeping it original, but I actually like manual brakes (I'm old fashioned). Seems like everybody automatically goes for disc brakes, but I hate to go that way just because everybody else does and the car mags push it for their advertisers. Has anybody here tried these brakes? Praise Dyno Brake (http://www.praisedynobrake.com/) I could get their Stage III kit for $745 and that would upgrade front and back.

What if a guy hasn't the knowledge to go this deep into a brake conversion. Is there something a little easier such as that mentioned in the tech archives of this site? I have a 67 Chevelle with a 350 in it now and want to upgrade the drums to disk. I was simply going to follow the ref at http://www.chevelles.com/techref/ftecref3.html Am I missing something?
