Hi, I was Just wondering If someone knows why my rear drums don't ajust.I Installed all knew parts myself, shoes, springs, left and right ajusters. The arms that should rest on the star-ajusters ,do not rest on them.I have looked at the front drums, and they do rest on them to prevent them from backing off. Both front and back look the same.Could it have something to do with the parking brake, since it is not working at this time?. Thanks Timber.....67' El-camino 396-4 on the floor

These arms should have a spring pushing it on the adjuster. The spring rests against the rear shoe. Perhaps it is missing.
Perhaps you switched left and right side components ?

I had the same problem with my front drums on my 69. I took them all the way apart and redid it again and it was fine after that. It may be sticking somewhere or the spring has lost it's tension.

I, too, have replaced all the parts including all the adjuster parts on all four wheels. I still have to manually adjust all four corners occassionally.
