prostreet72chevelle

I recently just got the 67 chevelle out after sitting for about 5 years. I had to replace the fixture that holds the bulb on the back driver's side cause one of the wires broke. It is the right fixture.
The problem now is that when I have the brakes on the lights light up correctly but when I put one turn signal on the other brake light goes out and vise versa. Same happens with when the lights are on, instead of it going completely out it just goes back to the dim just like the regular tail lights being on. I don't know what it was like before I replaced that fixture. Could have been like this or not.
Anyone else ever have this problem? The wiring looks good and clean all original. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Travis
