Could someone please post a photo of a CORRECT '69 BB Power steering pump and bracket setup, installed. I have a new repro bracket set but my existing pump reservoir return line interferes. I think my existing bracket setup is '70-'72. I'm not sure what a correct '69 reservoir looks like. I don't trust the photos in the catalogs.

Could someone just describe what the reservoir looks like? I'm guessing it doesn't look like the ones advertised as stock replacements.

I have a 69 BB with the repro brackets. I went through the exact problem you have. A lot of effort went into this so I believe the information is accurate. The reservoirs are the same, the return is relocated to the underside of the reservoir. If you have some brazing skills this should present no problems whatsoever. First remove the reservoir from the pump, clean the oil with solvent, (be sure it is dry completely)Secondly. remove the return fitting with the torch, carefully softening the brazing alloy,thirdly, fill the original hole with brazing alloy. Forthly, relocate the return fitting to the predrilled hole in the bottom and braze it in. Finally, clean, repaint and reinstall. If you don't have brazing equipment, you should be able to have a local weld shop do it for a resonable fee (couple of bucks) WAY CHEAPER than trying to find an original pump. Also I believe the modification is the way it was done on the original reservoirs, so your modifications will be correct.
