Good morning all.. Need advice on parking brake cables. Just installed a rear disc conversion from SSBC on my 69 Malibu. Guess what,,the park brake cables no longer reach the frame holes. They are about 6 inches too short now. Any advice on where to get new ones? Maybe cables for an impala would be longer Anyone have a fix for this?

I have an Impala disk set up waiting to go on my chevelle I could measure cables for you, does yours have internal park brake shoe?left cable pulls from the ft. rt. cable pulls from the rear?

Thanks for the reply. Mine has the ball ramp type p/brake. It uses the pads for the p/brake.
The cables are of the same length left and right.
My old cabels fit o.k. they are just too short. I guess what i need is drum brake cables that are about 4 inches longer than the originals.

I have a 71 Chevelle and being GM-A Body i guess it should all be the same.I too have the SSBC on mine and it took me some time to figure out how to run the parking break cable what you need to do is go to your local autozone and order these parking brake cables part#CA-5508 they will have to order them so go tommorrow and you will hopefully have them by wednesday and i will post some detailed picture tommorrow night of how i got them setup so you will see what you will need to do.
