It's installed in a 67 Pontiac LeMans but was told it is a Chevelle rearend.Any ideas

I can't help you with that one, but be careful on the ratio. The stamped # only tells what the general gave it at the factory after 30+ years it may have been changed. There are some #'s stamped on the edge of the ring gear and one of them may be a date. The best thing would be to get the rear cover off and look inside, also count the ring gear bolts and make sure there is 12, some of the other A's had 10 bolts hiding under their 12 bolt covers.

Thanks again ElCamino,I'm going ahead and pull the complete rear off and pull the cover off so I can have a better look. The only sure
thing is that it is a Posi. Also do you know
if the CI code was used in other years other
than 67??
