After the upgrade, my post count was cut almost in half. Are the old threads gone?

Evidently, some members have lost quite a bit of their post counts. There is another thread in Bench Racing under "It's Back(Team Chevelle)" where some other members are just noticing it.

Mine went down by over 1500.

I answered this in the other topic but here is what happend.
After the move the database was optimized for performance and when doing this it re-counted all the posts belonging to each person. Seeing as a lot of topics (birthday greetings etc) are removed over the years the post total dropped. The current number is accurate for the amount of posts "currently" in the forums belonging to each person.

I'm looking at options to restore the total posts #'s from our old database.

I notice it to be mostly old timers. Which must mean that alot of really old posts got the axe. But, if it means the site to be faster, then it is for the better.

I know, you could charge People 50.00 buck's to get their post count back.:D

You are correct. We used to do a lot more housekeeping many years ago as we did not have the server capacity to store all the topics.

Mine dropped from over 10,100 to 7975+ :mad:

Do you know how long it took me just to get to 10,000???

Oh well... guess I'll just have to spend even more time here... :D

I only lost aboot 500 or so, I just hope it was 500 of the REALLY useless posts, I've made.:D
