View Full Version : Power Brake Conversion (66) Rodie40 Mar 23rd, 03, 11:15 PM I have Manual single master, and I have a power booster with dual master. Anyone know what else I might need to do this conversion? Thanks for the help. Rodie40 Mar 23rd, 03, 11:30 PM Actually I think I can only use the booster cos the master is for a Disc brake setup. Can I just add in the booster? Will I need anything else? I know I need a vaccuum feed line and the longer rod is on the booster. I believe the setup is from an early '70's Camaro. Peter F. Mar 23rd, 03, 11:52 PM I think the master may bolt up but I'm not really sure. I would consider splitting the brakes with a dual master cylinder for the front and rear. Just gives extra safety. You can use a dual drum brake cylinder off a 67-70 or so Chevelle. You either need the splitter block or just a T for the front lines. I believe NAPA has some fittings you could use to T the line. That single cylinder just doesn't have any safety built in. If you have a line or wheel cylinder problem you will loose all the brakes. Peter Frank66 Mar 24th, 03, 12:17 PM It should bolt right up. 4 bolts on firewall, 2 on the booster. I had the same set up on my 66, i used an MC/booster from a 72 monte. are you doing anything with the brakes lines? will they reach? i did all lines during the swap. |
