Ok here my questions to all you motor heads, I have a 69 chevelle malibu, with a small block. console automatic, 12 bolt, I getting ready to put a PST front supension kit on it, It looks like my chevelle sits about normal, Ok I want to lower it some in the front, with some sort of high performance spring, I want to race it on the track, no faster than 12.50's some time in the future, what is a decent lowering spring, about 1 1/2" or 2", Like moroso, or something, I got comp adj. shocks on it too. Is there something out there thats reliable and reasonable, thanks cliff

I have the Hotchkis lowering springs. They are only an inch or so drop, though. I can't say how they work at the track, yet, though. However, a lower, and therefore stiffer, spring is counter productive at the track. At your ET goal, depending on the rest of the set up, you may not even notice a difference.

If you don't need more weight transfer to keep traction, then not having it won't be a problem, obviously. But the stiffer springs will reduce that weight transfer.

You can lower it with weaker springs but that is detrimental to handling in corners and may cause you to bottom out. But the weight transfer will be better.

It's a trade off. In your case, I think I'd err on the side of stiffer springs.

Tim.

Thanks TRONDD, I will look at them and see what the difference is and spring rate between others, thanks again
