I'm looking for a book which I can read to learn all about suspension geometry, and design principles, etc.

I bought a '64 2dr wagon that is tubbed, has an Art Morrison 4-link, and narrowed Lincoln Versaille(sp?) disc brake 9" in the rear.

The front suspension is an incomplete custom fabbed tubular A-arm and coilover setup with custom-made spindles. I may have to design some of the parts myself since the company that built it never sent all of the stuff to finish it before they went out of business. graemlins/sad.gif

Steering is Mustang II rack-and-pinion.

The plan is to make the car CORNER with 17x9s and 17x15s. The body and frame is VERY rigid with its 12-point cage.

Hey Derek,

This book has a good discussion of suspension geometry:

There is a new edition out, but I have a copy of the 70's version that you're welcome to borrow.

Heya Derek (wow, that sounds strange)

I asked the same question on one of the other forums I'm on. The two top suggested suspension books were "How To Make Your Car Handle" (I believe the author is Fred Puhl but I'm not positive and I loaned my copy of this one out years ago) and "Chassis Engineering" by Herb Adams. Chassis Engineering is out of print but I found a copy at the Pate swapmeet last month. I've read through it a couple of times and it's pretty intense. Well worth the read. I'm still an idiot, but I'm a better educated idiot.

Derek,

Also, checkout Steve Smith motorsports for Circle Track suspension design and Street Stock suspension design. It is all written for Roundy-round cars, but there is a lot of information to use.
