Couple of weeks ago I installed an AirLift airbag on the right rear of my '67. Got the set from Summit within 3 days. Was a snap to install with decent instructions included. This particular part number (60744) apparently also fits Fffffords so one must disregard those portions of the instructions. No need to remove the shock or spring as I have seen in other posts, just stuff, blow and go. Whether it will help traction or not, I don't know, haven't had a chance to hammer it yet.

Why the air bag? Curious

Our car needs a some lift to clear the tires. I was wondering how much they can lift the car.

I now have the height just barely above stock, I use to have it fairly high but it rode really rough and every bump in the road was 100 times harder when you would hit it, it would basically ride like a dump truck (and having polygraphite bushings like I do probally doesn't help make it any smoother) and when I had the rear lifted real high you could literally feel the the difference when you were sitting in it, the car actually felt like it was sitting at an angle like if you were parked facing down a real steep hill. So how big are the tires you are trying to clear? I have 275/60r15 on the rear of my 72 and they fit fine and I don't have the rear raised very high (it's only that way because I like the raked look).

My purpose for installing them was to preload the right rear for better starting line traction. But yes they will lift the car somewhat if you in crease the pressure. Keeping mine at 8-10 psi and ride is not noticabley affected. Of course with skinny front tires, no front sway bar, worn front shocks and and whats to notice. I don't run slalom courses with it.
