One of the problems with the '98+ LS1 rear disc system is the e-brake arrangement. They use a mini drum inside the rotor hat that is actuated by the e-brake cable (Same for the C5 rear disc brake setup) as opposed to the LT1 F-bodies that have the e-brake mechanism on the caliper.

If you swap on the '93-'97 F-body setup you'll more than likely have to swap the passenger side backing plate onto your Chevelle's driver's side and same for the F-body driver's side backing plate due to the shock mount will come close.

There are rear disc brake setups on 3rd gen F-bodies that will work, but beware that you can get an iron caliper version or a PBR version. So keep an eye out when looking for canidates at the 'yard.
