As I may have mentioned in another thread, I've been working a bit on my trailer. I took a Boeing roll around cart Dad had when he moved since he had no use for it. So, I used the material to make new ramps, other than buying the new traction steel welded on top, and the 'hooks' which were part of the ramps I took off but were a full square with the round circle in the middle before I cut them. I also had to cut and weld pieces to the underside of the trailer to stow the ramps, and took off the decking to do that easier.

As you can see from one of the pictures, I still have yet to start on taking off the old fenders and putting on the new ones that will be able to hinge outward for low door clearance cars. I will do that soon.

If anyone's wondering why the 1 1/4" steel solid stock bar on the back of the trailer is bent....Dad had a heavy compaction roller on there, and just about rolled the roller getting it off the trailer, in turn bending the bar with so much weight.

Nice setup. I like the hide-away ramps.
We have a soggy old 24' travel trailer that I was going to crush, but my welder buddy is threatening to turn it into a car trailer for me. Would be nice to have my own trailer, rather than sharing one.

Keep up the good work, Mike. You certainly are a guy with mad industrial skills.

Go for the trailer:yes:. That extra 8' in length will give you room for extra tires/wheels, a toolbox, etc. As for mad industrial skills, I just do the best I can with what I have....thanks for the compliment:beers:

I've been meaning to change them for at least a couple of years, so I'm glad they're the way I like them now....not in the way of anything. I was just lucky enough to see that cart laying there and putting 1+1 together.

John, it would be a shame to not have to fight the trailer brakes everytime you want to back up.:p

Mike,
I like the improvements.
Looks like a pretty nice trailer.

So true. I love backing it up on dark side streets, blocking both lanes of traffic while the surge brakes pound on erratically. That, and the sweet smell of burning clutch as my anemic tow vehicle struggles to push it up a 2 % grade.
