I went to Autozone to get a replacement master cylinder. The guy gave me two options: 1)"metallic lined" with 2 year warranty and twice the price or 2)"non'metallic lined" with lifetime warranty at fair price. I did't know the difference (I thought all old master and wheel cylinders were cast metal) and he didn't either so I went with the non-metallic. It's cast iron and looks like the old one so what's with the metallic/non-metallic???

Pat, are you sure that he wasen't aking if you have metallic brake linnings. Stainlees Steel Brake, lines their Corvette and Camaro diskbrake cylinders with a stainless sleeve. I think that the metallic brakes require a different size master cylinder bore than the standard brakes.

You are probably correct, I have been thinking about it and had the same thought. I did go with the larger bore option (1") because my wheel cylinders are the larger size. Thanks for the reply.
