I know this is not Chevelle oriented but it is GM and it's for a friend. My buddy is about to embark on a ground up nuts and bolts resto of his 69 GTO convertible with all the "born with" drive train. The car originally was black on black on black, it has the 400 motor and is a console shift AT with the correct rear end. I mean this thing has all the right stuff with NO rust. He is wanting info on any shop that would look at taking on this project in the Nashville to St Louis area. Any names of a QUALITY shop would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Not sure how close these are but they are high quality shops worth traveling to if your budget can afford it:

Thanks I'll pass these along. If it were mine and I could afford it Scott Tieman would definitely be the #1 choice

THe guy is asking advice on where to take a car for a qaulity restoration. There are members here that do it for a living. I don't see where you have an issue here. Does it matter if it's a chevelle or not????? Some of us have other cars besides chevelles. We're all here to help each other out.

I'm all for helping out. If you're here to make a living, say you're doing so. I have NO issues but I just want to hear from folks that do their stuff enjoying their rides. If I follow your http//, all I see is advertisments:boring:

There are many members here who may be involved in some sort of restoration process, wether it be a full blown restoration or they just restore certain components. This site is about helping each other out and lending good advice when asked for it. The initial poster asked a question which several people have tried to answer honestly. There have been 1000's of questions like this and there will be a 1000 more. It's pretty simple here, if the topic doesn't interest you, then don't reply to it.

Man...... is it safe to come outta the foxhole yet? :( Didn't mean to start WW III but I will pass all the info along to my buddy. You guys have been a great help, but next time I'll ONLY ask about my 69 Chevelle SS :D

Rick,

No worries. All GM cars are welcome here. The one poster is stirring up dirt in other threads as well so ignore him. Sounds like your buddy has a neat car!

Dave Birdwell does know his stuff too and I think that is a terrific source as well.

You may try posting here too:

Rick, don't worry about someone with a post count of "28". This guy obviously doesn't have a clue as to what "Team Chevelle" is all about. You asked a valid question and I hope you have some answers to explore.

Thanks again guys . I'm definitely passing along the info. My buddy really does have a great car, I'm just not shure he realizes how nice it is so that is why I'm trying to steer him to do a first class resto. I don't recall ever coming across a black on black on black 69 GTO convertible before (although I'm sure there were some made).
