In the next few days I will get my friend mechanic of 30 years to install new rear springs on my recently purchased 71SS BB. Car is real nice but has a too soft ride I ordered these springs from Year One and they were delivered direct from the Mfg. in about 10 days. Any lessons anyone needs to tell me about before this job is done? Also, replacing the front shocks (rears seem ok.) Also bought them from Year One. They are white in color. What color should these shocks be? The rear are a grey color.
All advise appreciated.

Mike,
Changing the rear springs is an easy switch. With the car on jackstands, jack up the rear end houising to take the tension off the shocks. Disconnect the lower shock bolts, and lower the rear end until the springs are free. They are just held in place by being compressed. Replace the insulator found on top of the spring while you are there. These help eliminate squeeks.
Shock color I don't know about. If you mean original shocks - you might want to ask in the resto forum.

The spring insulators are available from GM. That's where I got mine. Sorry, but I don't have the part number. Cost a couple bucks each.

Thanks for the responses. Got the job done today. The car is much better-sits probably 2-3 inches higher in the rear. The front shocks were in terrible shape so I am glad I changed them. Car rides much better.

Found the part number: 1366500 $3.33 list each from GM. These were used on my 72 SS. Don't know if they were used in 67.
