So this will be my second annual car show for the highschool I work at. It is in conjunction with our homecoming week. I have an employee/student car show on friday before the game and the cars get to cruise in the homecoming parade if they would like.

The following day (saturday) is the open car show. Last year I had @25 cars show up and made about $600. All entry fees, raffel purchases and other money given to the car show is a donation to the auto shop that I teach in. Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase a new car hoist to replace the broken 45 year old existing in ground hoist.

I haven't come up with a flier yet, as I have to make sure times, and places are in concrete. It will be held in Los Banos on October 3, 2009. Probably from 8am-?. There will be prizes, shirts, trophies, goodybags etc, along with good oldies music.

If you have any questions PM me for now, and I will update when I get a flier.

It is definately on for the 3rd of Oct. I will be getting all the details nailed down with my students by the second week of school/end of August. It will be at Pacheco park in Los Banos and Saturday only. Again entry fee is 10 dollars. Come support us wether you feel you are "show quality" or not. It makes for a good end of summer GTG, talk about winter projects and such.

I will post the particulars when I have them, but the rough work is done and you know when and where it is.

Pacheco Park is located on Highway 152 (Pacheco Blvd) just West of Hwy 165 (Mercy Springs in Los Banos. A huge shady park.

Rain or shine, but shouldn't be rain.

Interesting, i'm just down the road in Turlock, wonder if some of the local guys ie. Beaux, Alan, Thor would be interested in going. Although of those Beaux is the only one i'v actually met... scary!

If my car is running by then, sounds like a party!

Im wanting to invite as many of the car clubs as possible to make a good showing and make it worth all the work my students are putting into this. Please pass on the information to as many people that you know that may come.

Here is the one week notice for the car show. Hope to see a lot of you guys there!

Save saturday October 3, 2009 8am-? for my second annual Los Banos High School Homecoming Car show. It is more of a cruise in but it is to help support out auto technology program here at LBHS. The show will feature raffle prizes, giveaways (goodybags with stuff and shirts), cool cars of course and good times. Everyone will receive receipts for tax purposes as it is all a donation.

Rod,

Got the C5 brakes on but now the wheels don't fit. Chevelle is not going anywhere for a while. Please post an address where I can send a donation. I challenge everyone who reads this to match my $20 donation if you are not going. It's a worthy cause. Heck...it'll cost more than that in gas alone to make the trip...poney up TCer's!

Rod,

Nice to see you at your show yesterday. Next year you should double your entry price and bump up the raffle prices, its a fundraiser and people will pay more, you could raise alot more as people will pay. I haven't entered a show in years that was less than $20. And to have my wife win top prize went along way on the trip home, thanks for the invite.

Thanks for coming, and Im glad you guys won that Net Book. I plan to double the entry fee and raffle prices. I actually brought the prices down on the raffle prizes because of the number of people. I just like to make things fun AND affordable for everyone, with gas prices so high and the cost of upkeep on our vehicles I thought it would be nice for those who travel a nice cut in prices. I haven't counted the profits yet but Im sure it will be a few hundered dollars, not bad for only 18 cars.

I think next year its either going to a little later at 10am, or possibly even the evening time, and have it near a restraunt that would be wiling to cut prices and split the income. But its all thoughts at this time. I really need to get a solid group of kids, those guys that were there are good but not much leg work out of them.
