: Goodyear Polyglas tires
mmurphy77 Jul 16th, 09, 4:28 PM I will need tires soon and I'd like to get the original Goodyear Polyglas GT F60-15s that came on the car (the looks of them outweigh anything bad anybody can say about them). The best price I can find is $235 each thru Kelsey tire ($1026.10 with shipping). YIKES!! Anybody have a better deal and/or can I get them thru a local distributor and save $86.10 on shipping? The other reason is the P235/60-15s I have now are about 1.5" less diameter making my 3.31 rear feel more like 3.73 and my speedo read too high. I can't find a 26.5" tall radial without being too skinny.
VinceS427bb Jul 16th, 09, 5:05 PM have you checked with Coker Tire?
they have a web site :)
Vintage Musclecar Jul 16th, 09, 5:10 PM Click here (http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/410701/an/0/page/1#Post410701) and drop Rusty (SmallHurst) a line, he might be able to help.

cas396 Jul 16th, 09, 6:18 PM Coker Tire does not sell the reproduction Goodyear tires. Try Kelseytire.com.

mmurphy77 Jul 16th, 09, 11:27 PM As I said right in the post, Kelsey tire was the best price I could find but $1026.10 is no chump change.

hot rod bill Jul 17th, 09, 7:56 AM Mike, i know that it not cheap to buy tires for these cars but not many dealers sell the goodyears. I payed close to what your price is & yes it hurt but i wanted the goodyear tires. Bill
REMIX Jul 17th, 09, 12:17 PM Anthony, yes that is correct.
Thank you, sir. They're not too expensive in 14 x 7 ... I think $185 each or something like that. Pretty much the same as any Wide Oval I've researched.

Those 60-series bias belted tires actually hook up really well when pumped up hard at the strip. They do follow grooves in the road and ride rough though. I love the look of them.
Wheelhop Jul 17th, 09, 6:36 PM My F70 by 14's goodyears were from Kelsey tire and they were a little over $800 out the door. If you have a friend who owns a shop of some kind maybe they could order them for you and get a dealer price on them?

Thanks Russell. My Chevelle is gone but how about a set of RWL Uniroyal Tiger Paws, G70-14, for my 442?
fastss396man May 12th, 10, 2:00 PM I purchased Goodyear Redlines from John Kelsey/Kelsey Tire many years ago. He was great to talk to on the phone and very helpful. Since I was raised in Akron, Oh and still live just outside of Akron I realy wanted Goodyear tires. As far as I know Kelsey is the only mfg of Classis Goodyear tires, and from what I remember they use the original molds purchased from Goodyear but use a more modern rubber compound.
SmallHurst May 12th, 10, 2:11 PM You are correct, Kelsey is the exclusive distributor of Goodyear reproduction tires. Everyone who has them, has to get them from him. I have spent hours listening to him and hopfully I can remember half of the information that he has given me. Super guy to work with!!!

The F60 15 are quiet a bit more expensive than the F70 14's. The Wide Ovals are a little cheaper. Summit Racing has the best price and shipping is only $7.50 per tire.....
