Has anyone had to deal with a proportion valve getting too hot? I've got a set of Hooker supercomps with 2" primaries and the #7 tube is right against the valve. Installed A piece of carbon asbestos between the two. The brakes work fine and theres no indication of fluid boiling. But now I'm noticing a tacky-like substance starting to seep out of the lower port fitting. Wondering if I'm melting a seal or packing of some kind. Thinking about relocating the valve farther down the frame. Any info on this issue would certainly be appreciated.

I relocated my proportioning valve on my 66 close to the master. I also changed my brake line routing to help prevent the brake fluid from boiling over.

I have the same headers to. I relocated mine 3" back. I needed to install a ajustible prop valve anyway so I shortend the line going to the rear. I added a 3" line on the valve going to the front line and a 3/16 brass IF coupling on the original line going to pass front side.

I had 2" Hooker Competition headers and now Dynomax 1.75" coated headers, both have run right next to or against the distribution block and I have never had brake problems. I guess if you're running too lean you might be getting it too hot. During the motor swap I had to pull the headers out anyway so I dinged them where they had been getting next to the dist. block with a big socket, now I have 1/4" clearance.
