So, I bought some 15 x 8, 15.7 keystones for $100, then I had them blasted for $30. I then went to the local PPG house and found a pint of seabring silver for $20. I used some extra primer, black, and clear I had, and this is how they turned out. I just wanted to give some people some ideas in case they wanted some driver quality rims for less than new price. Total investment was $150. Also, if you think they look totally ridiculous, please say so; I can't decide if I like them just because I did them, or if they actually look okay.

Those wheels in the photo look nice, I like how they turned out.
I would have to see them on the car with tires before I could really give a true opinion.
Nice work, and great idea.

They look fine. Painted wheels are good as long as they are well painted. My daily driver has 16" aluminum Road America wheels that are painted aluminum silver from the factory.

I remember either Keystone or Appliance took a similar styled wheel to yours in the mid-70s and painted it white. That was back in the days of vans and white painted spoke wheels.

Yeah, I thought the title of the post might add some shock value...I think your right about the spinners, I just wanted to try and salvage a little of the chrome! Now all I'll have for chrome is the valve stems :) Now I'm pricing the tires, from what I've seen Costco with the BFG radials for $400 installed seems to be the best deal I've come across. I could also get some cooper cobras to my door for $300, but shops are usually pretty pricey to m&b when you bring your own rubber. Does anyone have any other tire suggestions? I'm currenty planning 255/60's on the rear and 215/65's on front.
