Hey everyone,

I hope its ok that I keep posting these Nova questions on Chevelle Tech,... Nova tech is no where near as technical.

Here's whats up with the project,... We're getting ready to update the suspension in the car. Its a 1972 Nova with a rear leaf springs, and front coils. Its got a new front clip with new rubber bushings,... but the rest of the suspension is all original,... old shocks, front springs (454 springs in a 327), rear bushings, sway bar. The sway bar can't be doing much on this car,... the original bars on the nova are no thicker then a large pencil. Nothing compared to a Chevelle.

What were looking to do is improve the stance of the car (make it more muscular) while improving the handling; at the same time keeping it looking like a muscle car. Right now what we're starting with is two new Cragar (original style) rims -- 14 inch in the front and 15 inch on the back, with Cooper Cobra tires. I know that jacking the rear and lowering the front is out of style and terrible for handling. Lowering the car would actually be a handling improvement, but at the same time, we're concerned about the tires fitting in the wheel wells and how the stance would look.

My idea is to go with KYB Gas Adjust shocks all the way around, and maybe a set of Eibach Springs in front. I would like to also upgrade to a high performance springs in rear but I'm not sure what type to go to or how many leaf's we need? Below are a couple of pictures of how the car looks right now. Any advice on the topic or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your input,

Dan and Brian

I'm running 15x8 Welds on my Nova with a 28x11.50x15 M/T ET Street. They fit in the wheelwells. My car sits LOW. It's all in the backspacing. I can check what mine are but give me a few days. I also recommend a 15 in the front. To give the wheelwell a nice look you need some tire in there. I used to have 15x7 rallys with a 225-60-15. It fit with no rubbing. The car had the same suspension as in the pics I'll post. Shoot me an email if you want to talk Novas. I've redone this car 3 times.
