What I thought was amusing was when everyone was leaving for a cruise around the island, the first car did a massive burnout when it pulled onto the street. The next car did one, then the next... The cops show up. What the cop did was hold back non-Chevelles from entering the street, then the cop gave the thumbs-up for the burnouts to continue! :hurray:

Now that part I missed, I had turned around and was limping back, and the cop was sitting where i needed to go, but he moved right when I limped back in, :beers:

I must say that in most cases, the police have been VERY cooperative towards our club function. Too bad they couldn't give lessons to some others but perhaps it has more to do with the "when and where" than anything else. After we leave the parking lot, it really is a fairly sedate but incredibly beautiful cruise! Around 50 cars for this year's cruise...outstanding!

Actually, the first car out was our "engineeer" of the Chevelle train...Jim Kaiser..who lives on Grand Island. His '66 427 does a rather mean burnout! Nothing like a little smoke in the air....clears the sinuses!
