Guys:

We had the opportunity with work with Jay Leno on one of his project cars, he used one of our Tremec TKO 5-speed kits. This installation is for his 70 Challenger so do not give me too hard of a time about that. It’s a GREAT video that he and his team put together and it covers many of the good (general) points about the Tremec TKO 5-speeds so I thought I would share it with the forum.

Above is the web site address to go to. It’s the first video that comes up on the Jay Lenos Garage web site....its titled "70 Challenger project".

Very cool. Jay Leno has all that money and his shop is beautiful, but why are his mechanics using flashlights under the lift?

I now drive a 66 Chevelle 4 speed but my last car was a 73 Black on Black Challenger 383 4 speed and it was a bitchin ride and fun to drive, but it just wasn't a Chevelle and it had to go.

Hi Scott and welcome to team chevelle.

THANKS A LOT FOR POSTING THIS ,IT WAS FUN TO WATCH.

My friend just installed a tremec 5spd to replace a stock m20 in his 69 camaro ss 396 with 411's.

It all worked well accept for the clutch being out of ballnace as recieved new from factory causing significant vibes at 3k rpsm & above.

He had to remove new trans and new clutch to have it reballanced at local machine shop, now its smooth all the way up thru the rpm range .

I was recently burnt like that on a new clutch install too so i now have any new clutches i installed checked for ballance prior to install to avoid any issues/vibes later on. What a pia that can be doing the job all over again in a case like that.

Car now runs at approx 2k rpm at 60mph with 411's,not bad at all.

My favorite part in Jay Leno's video is at the last 2 minutes of the video when Jay is doing the test drive and turns left at the stop light and the guy in the Chevelle rolls buy and revs his motor. Too bad Leno turned, would have been fun to see the results with the Chevelle.

Leno is a great car guy and great person too. Glad you guys like the video.
