: Disc brake hubs?

What cars, other than 68-72 A bodies use the same front hub for disc brakes? I have spindles and backing plates, need hubs and rotors, hopefully from a boneyard. Thanks, Scott! graemlins/waving.gif

I'm not sure I understand your question. The rotor mounts directly to the spindle, so it would not have a separate hub as you would find on a drum brake car. If you've got the spindles and backing plates, all you need is the rotor and its attendant bearings, plus the caliper and its related parts.

Did I help or confuse?

The 69-72 GM A-body disc brakes all swap. But you would be unlikely to find them in a bone yard. If you do under $300 grab everything!

The disc brake assembly is 4 pieces + the 1 piece rotor. In 67-68 there was a hub that bolted to the rotor, but they were not as safe as the 1 piece design that later became standard.

Cast spindle (a drum spindle can be machined to fit),

Backing plate (way different than a drum plate),

Caliper bracket,

Steering arm (+ 2 bolts)

I wondered if that was what had you stuck. I actually have a one-piece rotor on one side and a two-piece rotor on the other side. You should be able to call around to your local auto parts stores and find them pretty easily. Shop around, as prices can vary. Just ask for rotors for a '72 Chevelle or Malibu.
