When i took apart my suspension, it had a round piece of felt material that was on the spindle to prevent dust and debris from getting in the bearings. Does anyone make these? should i make one out of another material or put it together without it.

I THINK it was behind the dust shield. It is a 1970 malibu with disc brakes

does anyone know what color the calipers should be painted?

This is an anti-rattle type of deal. Just put a thin bead of silicon, or just skip it.

Yes, it goes between the dust shield and the spindle. As DG said, it's just for noise reduction, don't think it will protect from dust as mostly anything can get in behind the rotor from the other side of the shield anyway. Silicone will do just fine. Have seen people cutting them from different gasket materials too.
