I am in the process of swapping out my rear drums for disks. I have removed the pass side C Clip but the driver's side will not come out. I have a 12 bolt Eaton Posi and the left clip will not clear the spring plates to fall out. It is getting hung up by just a hair. I have pushed the axle all the way in, gently tapped it with a hammer, checked for obstructions from the brake assy, all with no luck. Can I loosen or pry on anything without damage to get it to fall out?

I had the same problem on a 76 monte carlo last week, but non posi rear end. The driver side C clip would not fall out. Eventually I pryed on the lip of the axle that is not covered by the C clip with a huge screwdriver. It moved the axle in a tiny bit and the C clip just fell out.
