: Can someone tell me what I'm missing? Rear axle/brake install

Okay, well, I've had about four people tell me I'm missing nothing, two tell me that I'm missing something, and my own gut instinct that something just isn't quite right.

I've included a picture of (I think) everything that I've got. I'm not great with names of things, so I can't really list them.

The reason I can't tell myself, is because I'm not able to install the system at the moment. I got to work on it, and found that the holes in the rotors for my new disc brakes are something less than a millimeter too small for the studs I pressed in my new axles.

It was a strange s/s axle kit, and then just a front/rear combo brake kit from opgi to fit my '69 Chevelle.

The main question here is: Do I have everything for this brake kit to hold my axles in? Is anything missing that I haven't learned about?

If you need another picture of anything else, try to describe it and I'll get it as promptly as I can.

Also: if anyone happens to already have a picture of that area on their car, I can probably reverse-engineer it in my head and figure something out.

Thanks in advance!

Are those calipers set up for emergency brakes? If they are you need the longer cables?
I'm thinking you need new rear brake lines that feed of the axles junction block. The stock ones for the drums are to short,at least mine were.
Good luck!!

Looks like the studs are some kind of larger diameter heavy-duty deal, you will probably have to drill or ream the holes in the rotor. Reaming is better if you can find a reamer or a shop that has one. There should be a little slop, the studs don't act to center the rotor, that's done by the center hole and the hub on the axle. Check the center hole too. Also, sometimes the O.D. of the axle needs to be turned down a little to fit inside the rotor. I don't know about your axle bearing setup, isn't there some kind of diagram that came with them?

You're now experiencing the pleasure of mixing and matching aftermarket parts.

Hahahaha, isn't that the truth?

I do have brand new brake lines. I did NOT get a diagram for the bearing setup... maybe I was just one of the lucky ones who got the short end of a "lost in translation" type situation.

If there's not really anything obvious, I'm going to go ahead and get those rotors reamed and start the install, and if anything looks bad during or afterward then I'll be back on fairly soon!

Thanks for the input guys.
