which master cylinder should i use? it has disc brakes up front drum back. i used the 72 brake system, but i want to use the 68 master cylinder to be more correct looking. am i going to be ok? i'm thinking i will be because basically they are the same only looks on the outside that i can tell. any help would be appreciated. thanx

I don't think they are the same. I know on the 69/70 there is a distribution block (with a brake fail connection) on the frame, and a small acorn-sized metering block mounted below the master. If you use a 71/72 Master with a 71+ distribution (some times called a combination valve) block on the frame you delete the metering valve, because it's built into the distribution block.

Why not use the 72 distribution block and a 72 Master?

Lots of good info here

thanx for the info. i guess i'm still confused. basically i used the 72 chassis and brakes including the booster and master cylinder. can the 68 master cylinder be used with the 72 brake system? i went to the local napa and they have all the dimensions and such. i will see if the bores and such are the same internally.

can use the 68 power disc master cylinder in place of the 71-72 one.
