: gasket on spindle?

Just got my front suspension parts back from being powder coated and the guy that did it handed me two round gaskets that he said were on the spindles. They look to be in ok condition with just a little fraying around the edge. Can I get these just anywhere or will it be OK to reuse them?

Thanks

They go behind the dust covers (first thing to go on the spindle when you assemble the brakes). I'm not sure why they are there, but I guess that they keep water and dust out from the back of the brake assembly. Can't really say that they would serve a purpose, dust and water will get in there through much larger gaps in other places anyway. I have disassembled some spindles where they had used a bead of silicone instead of the gasket, and if a gasket is needed for some reason, I'd say that silicone would work just as well.

I have reused them on many brake rebuilds and have never had a problem. On the other hand, if you can find them they are probably very cheap, so you can just as well replace them. I'm just too lazy to look for them ;)
