They didnt come out with a switch for the manual transmission until 68, I think. You have to be careful not to start the car in gear, that is the way it was in 67

If the 67 didn't have a clutch safety switch to prevent starting in gear, it would be easy to put one in.

And where would I find one, and the directions on how to install it? Did the cars come with that, or is it an add on feature?

I drove stick shift cars without any safety switch for 40 years and never ever started one in gear without holding the clutch down that I can remember.
You will be reminded as soon as you bump the starter if you do forget.

i usually jumper past the switches. pain in the rear to not be able to reach thru the window and start the car without using the clutch. i bought a Buick some years ago from a dealer that thought the engine was locked up, all it was was the clutch switch was misaligned and wouldn't close the circuit for the starter to work. threw the switch away and jumpered the connector and car started right up. i paid $275 for it and sold it for $2200. i'll take a few more of those.

Now just don't park too close to another car. ;)
