Decided to switch my 3:07 for a 3:42. Is the Summit ring and pinion a good quality buy ? They offer several companies and I was told by a Summit rep that unless I was going to drag race or have a 600 H.P. car, the Summit gears would do fine without the expense of the others.
Summit sells the gears and an installation kit with everything needed. Sounded like I could get everything there.
There is a rear end expert in my town who can do the job right.
Thanks.

The Summit gears are more lilely to make noise. Any of the bargan brands are more likely to be noisy. With gears and installation kits you get what you pay for. If you buy cheap you will get cheap.

Thanks. I 've decided to go with Moser. Does Moser make an installation kit or will the Ratech do ?

Ratech is probably one of the worst kits that you can get. The shims are junk and the other parts are a mixed up mess of different brands of bearings and other parts. The DTS and Tom's Differentials kits are the best that I have found. Randy's Ring & Pinion is second. Richmond, Ratech, Summit, Jeg's and others are not worth the box they are packed in. I haven't used a Moser installation kit, so I don't know how it is.

Moser sells Motive Gear and US Gear.
