anyone know if 70 chevelle and 70 monte carlo frames are the same? thanks

wheelbase is different, 116 on the monte and 112 on the chevelle (2dr)..I believe the chevelle 4dr is also a 116.

don't know about the first gen Monte's, but the second gen (73-77) had the wheelbase stretched in betwen the firewall and engine crossmember- just look under the hood of one, and you will see how far back the engine is compared to the front wheels. that's one of the things that makes Monte's such good drivers- better front to rear weight distribution. i don't THINK the Monte and wagons have the same frame, but i might be wrong. can't see how it would work. i know Chevelle big block headers don't fit a 74 Monte Carlo (expensive lesson 10 years ago- "just one more dimple, and it will clear".. until the whole pipe was smashed. hey, i was 19...)
