: Trans/Muncie builder-supplier
Bill Rose Jul 7th, 09, 9:59 PM I'm looking for suggestions, on who to buy a new M22 from, for one of my cars. Not a "numbers" trans, but a new one. I know about Ed Hartnett in Pa, but I'm looking for some others. I see a couple guys on Ebay selling them, but I'm looking for someone trust worthy, with a good reputation building Muncies.
todd j Jul 7th, 09, 10:13 PM Check out this guy. He is at Pate and Petit Jean swap meets every year. I know him and his work and they are top notch. I don't think you will regret buying from him.

Stickman Jul 7th, 09, 10:19 PM Bill...you could try Bob Bartlett @ Four Gear Trans. I sent my M20 out to him a few years ago. It was really abused. He did a great job on the repair, was reasonable and the best thing about him is he's a standup guy. I still email him with questions about the trans and other concerns...he's always quick to respond and very helpful, long after the checks been cashed. Worth a try....

Don't forget about Wally here on TC. He is in Frederick, MD and has been a long time supporter of TC and MCC. http://www.muncie4speed.com/
Robinls5 Jul 8th, 09, 1:27 PM To add another name to the list. " Hosses Gear Shop " Norvelt, Pa. 724-423-6502 Near Greensburg,Pa. " Hoss " Dave Hoke. Did my M-22 and it is PERFECT. Hoss ships his trannys & Rears to all points of the globe. He only does rears and trannys and nothing else.
Hoss has an excellent reputation and expect to pay. Hoss will not short cut, He will tell you that. He will also bore and re-bush your Muncie case, If needed.
Bob:thumbsup:
Beaux Jul 8th, 09, 1:36 PM Not sure why a member wouldnt utilize Wally for their trans. You know where he is, know where to find him, hes been here for years and years and if any problems arise (doubtful) hes here, at his place, etc. He has a lot invested in his business and his reputation both local, abroad and here. To me that meant established trust. That in conjunction with the fact that we all know the man knows these transmissions in and out, backward and forward and that they are all he runs himself - business went to him without concern or questions. I emailed, he replied. I called, he answered every time. Trans was built, received without concern or question. Was boxed and shipped ina rock solid container and shipping wasnt bad at all.
My vote, without a SINGLE doubt - Wally.
AZCamino Jul 8th, 09, 1:46 PM You can buy a new Auto Gear M22 directly from them, or from Wally. This definitely would not be a "numbers" transmission with the new super case and all. If you want something in an original case with all new guts (maybe an M22W gearset), I'm sure Wally could do that for you, too.
