Man, I've searched and searched and i can't find anyone that either sells quarter window rollers for the '65 of can for sure confirm that some other option (like a '64's or some other model) will work.

I broke a couple of the roller plastics (not the entire post/rivot). I'd love to just be able to pean a new roller head on since it looks like these are rivoted in place.

can anyone help? suggestions other than check your local glass shop (these guys are idiots here)?

As always...THANKS! :beers:

It SAYS those are for the '65, but the picture is practically impossible to make out. I guess theorhetically I could drill out the rivot that holds the current ones in and use pretty much any kind of roller that is the same size (diameter and post length), right?

they are out of them and don't have a suggestion for swaps. These look like they might do: http://northlandfasteners.biz/Store/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=2193

I don't have calipers, but by my crude measurements, my existing rollers are 5/8" diameter (pretty close to 11/16") and 3/16" thick (pretty close to 7/32").

Any idea how they fasten? would I drill out the existing rivot, push these through and fasten with a backing of some kind hopefully included?

they dont answer the phone

Don't count on anything being "included". Don't know if they are correct or not but both NPD and OPG show them in their catalogue.

I bought my rollers for my 65 conv. from a local glass company. Some of my rollers were frozen up, I tried to free them up but they woudn't. First one I drilled out and installed a new one, I used a tool that looked like a punch that was concaved to cause the rivet to curl over. I forgot what it's called but it worked really good, but is a real pain and you take a chance at shattering your glass.
This one works really easy.
I heated up the frozen roller with a burnsomatic just a tiny bit and used a pair of needle nose to pop the fozen roller off. I steel wooled the original round rivet.
I put the new roller shaft in a vise and popped the nylon wheel off and used a soft mallet to pop the new wheel on the old shaft. works really great.
I might have some roller left,

Jim

man, I would so rather be able to pop new roller wheels on instead of drilling the old studs out and trying to flare the rivots and all. I broke one old wheel off already trying to free it up. Maybe I'll use that as a test. I got the new rollers..they look pretty much perfect. Thanks for the Northlandfastner link. He got back to me pretty quickly via email, I paid a little extra for shipping, but he ran them to the post ofice and I had them the next day!

My only concern is that the old round ball head won't be the same size as the new wheels...but WHEEL see tonight!

Thanks Jim!
