Anyone have comments on what would be the most logical differential for my small block chevelle. I'm purchasing a Moser 12bolt complete package and was curious on the best choice of differential. They give you a choice of Eaton posi, Auburn limited slip, trutrac, trackloc, and detroit lockers.
I'm not racing it on the straight track not to say I might not some day but mostly I use the car for shows and lots of crusing's.
So any input would be appreaciated.

My vote in your case would be the Eaton. The Detroit Locker is great for a strip-only car. The Auburn is great when cost is the issue, but they are not rebuildable. Eaton is my choice. They are rebuildable.

I get a little confused from this point, but I believe the Truetrack is sort of like a streetgoing locker. People have said good things about them, but noise (ratchet noise) can be an issue (like the original locker). They have a new style ratchet mechanism in them if I remember correctly.

This is only my free advice. It is worth every penny and no more :D

Eaton is best in most cases. I never recommend an Auburn to anybody. The truetrac would be good if you had road racing or auto cross in mind. Did you get a good price on the Moser? Give me a shot and see what I can do. biggearhead@bellsouth.net
