I put this post in Wiring section but thought probably better here.
I'm starting to plan my interior/dash for my 72 Chevelle. I purchased a new "SS" dash. I do not have anything else (cluster, guages ETC...) I'm looking into getting a covan's dash/gauge insert. (Black with All American Traditional Series Gauges) My questions are.
1) How is the fit? Much trimming and/or modifications to properly fit?
2) It comes with wiring harness. Does this plug and play with original factory dash harness? or is there a lot of wiring modifications needed?
3) Is there any other modifications necessary to fit the light and wiper switches, AC vent ETC... )
4) As far as cost, time, and issues, Is it worth going this route or getting the original style SS intrrument panel and gauge cluster?
5) Do I need the SS dash gauge cluster?
I'm trying to weight the differences in cost, hassels and looks. I really like the custom look but don't know if it will be worth it. I never did anything like this before so any and all suggestions and advise would be appreciated so I don't severly botch this up Thanks. Bob
