i was in another thread earlier, and it dawned on me, that over the years, i've seen several southern bands play, thunderbirds, 38 special, ga. satelittes. first off, i call these party bands, it seems not like a concert, but a huge party when thes type of bands play, and some of my craziest nights have been during these concerts.
now the part i have to ask. when the southern bands play, sooner or later shoes are thrown at the stage, and the band, usually without skipping a beat, throw the shoes back. can anybody tell me where this started, and what the heck is going on? is this a sign of appreciation??? i just never really seen anything like it. is it a carry over of throwing beer bottles at the stage? i've never seen a band quit because of it, and act like it's just a normal part of the show....at first i thought it was idiot californians, but i've been to several concerts in al. and ga. and it happened there too....
