First off Id like to say I bought a 68 Chevell last week in hopes of restoring it. The body is tight with very little rust and has no motor or tranny. It will be summer before I go to work on it. I am wondering what year makes and models will the front spindles interchange to put disk brakes on the front? Like I said I am new to this. I usually mess with LT1 and LS1 camaros. Thanks

How big do you want to go? You can fit 13" LS1 brakes on there with some adapters and custom built hubs.

I had read that before but what spindle do you use? Now it has a drum brake setup on the front.Amd when you say custom hubs do you mean making a new hub or just modifing an existing one?

modify the exsisting one.

There are a few places who sell kits.

I have some of the details www.onrails.net (http://www.onrails.net) check the suspension page, at the bottom there is a C5 link.

What other Makes and Models will swap(spindles mainly) without modifing anything?

I'm using the 78-96 Caprice "Tall Spindle" with 12" brakes. 89-92 Camaro 1LE rotors are required if you want to run 4.75" bolt circle wheels.

Notes: 77 caprices used smaller outer wheel bearings, and won't work with the camaro rotors.

Some 77-90 caprices had 11" brakes. The 11" brake cars all had 4.75 bolt circle, 12" all have 5" bolt circle. All wagons and cop-cars had 12"

91-96 9C1s used 5/8" lower ball joint instead of 9/16. The bigger balljoint can't be machined down to fit the chevelle control arms.

Thanks. I think I can work with that. I found a brake setup from an old 73 or 4 Malibu I think. Im going to look and see if these will work.
