I need help with my memory as it has been years since I replaced a Master Cylinder, but as luck would have it the one on my 67 started leaking. It is ready to go back on but I can not find anything in any of my manuals about bench bleeding it before re-hanging it on the firewall hooking it up. Have I lost it or is that not necessary? If it is what is the sequence?
Thanks,

You have to do that in order to get all the air out of the bore. Clamp it in a vice, fill it at least 3/4 with fluid and take 2 lines, screw them in and bend them over so they sit in the fluid. Then use a big screwdriver to work the cylinder until all the air bubbles come out. Make sure you go all the way in too.
Sequence is bleed it, leaving the 2 lines on. Then mount it on the firewall, lastly unscrew the bleeder lines and reinstall the lines on the car and proceed to bleed the entire system.
